Previous to that, I put my skills to work as a marketing and communications specialist.
As a generalist, I find that these roles engaged my drive fore story telling, and I excelled in ensuring that the story of each client or subject was put to the forefront.

Avenue Edmonton (Odvod Publishing) | Associate Editor 2014 – 2016

Wrote features, front of book pieces, and pieces for the web; helped to develop story line-ups for each issue of Avenue; generated story ideas and concepts; worked with writers, assigned features, and substantively edited pieces for various sections of the magazine; assigned fact-checking and aided in the process as needed; copyediting, proofing and checking of plotters; mentored and supervised editorial team, including web editor and editorial interns; create online promotional tools such as newsletters and event invitations; blogging; editing website; managing social media accounts; represented Avenue magazine and its brand across multiple digital platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Pinterest and Instagram; represented Avenue in public appearances, including CTV Two’s Alberta Primetime, Rogers’ Dinner Television and various Avenue Magazine functions such as its Top 40 Under 40 and Best Restaurants events.
